Jessica Alba has filed a lawsuit against the makers of a product called the Belly Bandit that makes a product called the Belly Bandit, a “postpartum compression garment” that claims to help “shrink the belly, waist and hips” of women who have recently given birth, TMZ reported.
Alba claims in her lawsuit that the company has been using her likeness and name to push sales of the undergarment without her permission.
The suit says the company “prominently featured and posted a photograph of Alba and listed her name under the ‘Celebrity Testimonials’ section of their Website.”
Alba also claims that Belly Bandit’s packaging includes an endorsement stating the product is “Jessica Alba’s #2 Secret for a Fast Post Pregnancy Slimdown!”
Any references to Alba appears to have been taken down from the website, which does feature “Celebrity Testimonials” from a slew of actresses and reality stars, including Kourtney Kardashian, Christina Applegate, Julie Bowen and Minnie Driver.
Alba is reportedly suing for more than $1 million in damages as well as a portion of the profits Belly Bandit made using her name and likeness.
Alba is the mother of two girls — Honor, 3, and Haven, who was born in August — with husband Cash Warren.
