Over the weekend, Donald Trump delivered the commencement address at Liberty University.
The president told graduates to follow their convictions despite whatever criticism they might encounter and “relish the opportunity to be an outsider.”
His words of encouragement, however, quickly became the subject of a few jokes in Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon’s Monday monologue.
“He said always have the courage to be yourself and chase your dreams. Then he stopped talking because he ran out of fortune cookies,” Fallon joked before slipping into his Trump impression, “A smile is a key into the hearts of others. Lucky numbers 5, 9, 34 and 33. Thank you.”
But the host’s sharpest critique, complete with back-to-back video footage, was that Trump’s address sounded a lot like Elle Woods’ (Reese Witherspoon) speech from Legally Blonde.
Watch Fallon compare the two below, followed by video of the full speeches from Trump and Woods.
This is far from the first time Trump was accused of plagiarizing a movie speech, with viewers quickly comparing part of his inaugural address to remarks from Batman villain Bane in The Dark Knight Rises.
