Jimmy Kimmel Accepts Roy Moore’s Invitation to Meet “Man to Man”

Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore took to Twitter on Thursday with some choice words for Jimmy Kimmel, who has been mocking the politician on his show for allegations that Moore sexually assaulted underage girls. “If you want to mock our Christian values, come down here to Alabama and do it man to man,” Moore tweeted, to which Kimmel responded, “Sounds great Roy – let me know when you get some Christian values and I’ll be there!” and, later, “OK Roy, but I’m leaving my daughters at home! P.S. – wear that cute little leather vest.”

The ABC host furthered the feud on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Thursday night, opening his monologue by saying, “I had an interesting day today.”

“I accept the invitation,” Kimmel went on, referring to Moore’s call to go to Alabama. “I’m going to come down with a team of high school cheerleaders. … And when the girls and I show up, if you can somehow manage to keep little Roy in your cowboy pants, you and I will sit down in the food court and have a chat about Christian values.”

Kimmel went on to question Moore’s invitation and whether the candidate meant to fight Kimmel. “There is no one I would rather fight,” Kimmel said. “I will put my Christian values aside to fight you. I’ll wear a Girl Scout uniform, so you have something to look at. Whoever wins the fight, we’ll donate the money from tickets we sell to whatever charity we want. I’ll donate mine to the women who claim you molested them.”

According to Kimmel, Moore initially lashed out at the host due to a segment his show did the night before in which the host sent a correspondent, Jake Byrd, to attend one of Moore’s rallies. Byrd, dressed in a shirt with Moore’s face on it and a hat emblazoned with “#1,” declared himself Moore’s biggest fan and interviewed supporters outside of a church Moore was set to speak at. Once the rally got underway, Byrd was escorted out after repeatedly interrupting Moore’s speech. As he was being thrown out, Byrd yelled, “Does this look like a man who hits on teenage girls?”
