The clinic where Joan Rivers went into cardiac arrest could be forced close soon.
The New York State Department of Health has completed its investigation of Yorkville Endoscopy and found a number of serious issues that could lead to the clinic losing its license, according to the New York Daily News.
The clinic was informed last week that it was “noncompliant” in four areas and is now at risk of losing its federal accreditation, according to a letter obtained by the Post. The four problematic areas were governing body and management, medical staff, surgical services and patient rights.

The letter reportedly stated that the clinic’s status as a Medicare supplier will be terminated Jan. 7 unless the issues are corrected.
Rivers died Sept. 4 after suffering from respiratory and cardiac arrest while undergoing surgery on her vocal cords at the clinic. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed last month that the health department was conducting an investigation of the facility.
Yorkville Endoscopy released the following statement: “The Center has been working collaboratively with appropriate government regulatory agencies to ensure complete compliance with all regulations. The Center remains open and will continue to collaborate with all accreditation and government regulatory agencies to ensure quality care.”
