Jocelyn Diaz has been appointed executive vp of original programming by the Epix pay TV service, it was announced Tuesday.
Diaz joins Epix from Disney, where she most recently worked as a vp of production, specializing in the development and production of drama series. Shows she worked on include Boardwalk Empire, Ugly Betty and The Practice.
She also worked on movies including Into the Woods and Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
“To be successful at originals you must be authentic,” said Epix president/CEO Mark Greenberg, “and that’s exactly what Jocelyn brings to the table.”
“I look forward to overseeing strategy for our original series,” said Diaz, “and meeting consumer needs on their terms with compelling content and original series that provide a unique and full-spectrum entertainment experience.”
Epix, launched in 2009, is a joint venture of Viacom (Paramount), MGM and Lionsgate.
