Missi Pyle and Joey Lawrence will star in Emma’s Chance, a drama that highlights a famous Southern California horse rescue.
Greer Grammer is starring in the film as a young girl named Emma who has to perform community service at a horse rescue ranch. While at the ranch, she forms an unlikely bond with an abused horse named Chance, who changes her life, and gives her the strength to stand up for herself and against a menacing foe of the horse rescue.
Pyle will play Susan Peirce, who founded the Red Bucket Equine Rescue. Jennifer Taylor, Ryan McCartan, Lia Marie Johnson, Christina Robinson and Amber Montana also star in the film, which will shoot in Chino Hills in September.
Anna Elizabeth James wrote the script and will make her directorial debut with the indie. Tyler W. Konney is producing and Barbara Greaves, Richard Switzer and Natalie Metzger will executive produce. Taylor & Dodge reps the title worldwide.
Pyle’s credits include Gone Girl, A Haunted House 2 and The Artist. She has a slew of indie projects in post, including Captain Fantastic from Bleecker Street and Miles with Molly Shannon. She’s repped by UTA, McKeon-Myones Management and Stone, Meyer.
Lawrence, known for starring on Blossom, starred on the ABC Family series Melissa & Joey, which ended its run in August after four seasons. His upcoming films include the indie Saved by Grace. He’s repped by Innovative Artists, Industry Entertainment and Jackoway Tyerman.
