In a recent interview with The Daily Mail, Johnny Depp opened up about his daughter’s swift rise to fashion “it girl” status. He says of the 16-year-old, “What’s happening to Lily-Rose is something that I didn’t expect to happen this early, that’s for sure!”
He adds, “If you’re not really looking for it, you can miss it, and Lily-Rose is on that road already and there’s nothing I can do to stop it. She’s been snatched up by Karl Lagerfeld — which is a coincidence, as he spotted her mother when she was the same age, too — and when I see her with make-up and all that stuff, it’s really disturbing, because she’s a very beautiful girl, and it’s all happening so fast.”
The beauty has been a mainstay on the front row of Chanel’s recent fashion shows with her mom, Vanessa Paradis, and is the fashion house’s new ambassador and the face of their Pearl eyewear collection. She also has launched her acting career with the forthcoming Yoga Hosers (starring her dad) and has several other features in the works, and is a bona fide social media star with one million Instagram followers. All proof that it doesn’t look like her career is slowing down anytime soon.
Depp goes on to say, “No matter how grown up she gets, I’ll never stop worrying about her. It’s a father-daughter thing.” See, Johnny Depp is just like your dad. Sort of.
