Mad Men star Jon Hamm is attached to star in Disney sports drama The Million Dollar Arm, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Mark Ciardi and Gordon Gray of Mayhem Pictures are producing the true-life tale, as are Joe Roth and Palek Patel.
No director is attached.
The script, by Tom McCarthy and Mitch Glazer, follows an American sports agent named J.B. Bernstein who discovered a pair of teenaged Indian cricket players by creating a reality TV show aimed at finding a person who could throw a baseball the fastest. He brought them back to America, taught them the ways America culture, and eventually signed them to a major league team.
Hamm, repped by ICM, appeared in scene-stealing efforts in Bridesmaids and also stars in Friends with Benefits.
