Saturday night’s 16th Annual Costume Designer Guild Awards were a treat for both film fans (Amy Adams won an award; Raquel Welch presented one) and major fashion nerds like ourselves (True Blood costume designer Audrey Fisher told us about her cool J. Crew statement necklace; Clueless designer Mona May told us about her latest project). But, as we quickly learned at the glittery black tie affair, film people are completely enamored with onscreen style, too.
Case in point: Jonah Hill, who was on hand to present Judd Apatow with this year’s Distinguished Collaborator Award. So we had to ask — just what was the Oscar nominee’s favorite costume in The Wolf of Wall Street?

“Oh that pastel 80s shirt thing in the diner scene,” the actor explained, without missing a beat, of the dusty-hued, colorblock number sported when his character meets the Wolf. “Sandy found it, and it was awesome.”
Hill, of course, was referring to film costume designer Sandy Powell, who has been nominated for 10 Oscars and won three.
“I love Sandy,” Hill told Pret-a-Reporter during the ceremony’s dinner potion, which had guests including Olivia Munn and Tony Hale nibbling on salmon, broccolini and goat cheese salad. “I want to give her a shout out.”

He continued gushing about the British costume master on stage later in the night, just before presenting Apatow with his CDG statuette.
“I have never collaborated so deeply with someone and their team,” he told the packed ballroom. “She’s the best.”
