LONDON — Jonathan Ross has signed an exclusive development deal with Endemol U.K. which will see his production company Hotsauce TV work with Endemol to create and produce entertainment concepts for the U.K. and international markets.
Endemol will be the exclusive worldwide distributor of all shows and formats co-developed by the partnership, but Ross will continue to work on a separate chat show project, which is being produced with ITV.
Hotsauce TV is behind shows such as Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, The Big Fat Quiz, Japanorama and Adam & Joe Go Tokyo. The company has also created a variety of specials focusing on significant cultural figures and themes from the punk movement to director David Lean as well as performers like Morecambe & Wise and Dad’s Army.
Ross, the U.K.’s highest paid talk show host and entertainer, failed to renew his long-time producing relationship with the BBC earlier this year following a 12-week suspension from the BBC after his role in obscene calls made to the actor Andrew Sachs, which were broadcast on air. However, he will present an astronomy program produced by the BBC’s science division, next year.
“I am beyond excited to be working with the biggest and best production company in the world,” said Ross.
Endemol U.K. CEO Tim Hincks said Ross was “brimming with TV ideas.”
