GOTV, a Spanish-language digital entertainment company, has named Jorge Granier as its CEO.
In his new role, Granier will focus on expanding the company acquisition of content and plugging it into GOTV’s existing distribution platforms. The 4-year-old company’s core business is licensing Spanish-language content, creating original productions and forging digital distribution partnerships throughout the world.
GOTV currently has distribution partnerships with Netflix, Hulu, Amazon and YouTube, allowing it to reach more than 50 million Hispanics in the United States.
GOTV also works with licensing and content partners that include Electus, LatinWE, RCTV, RCN, NTN24, Caracol, Nuevon, VIP 2000, Plop, Sierralta Entertainment, High Hill Entertainment and more. GOTV says that, through these partnerships, it has the largest Spanish-language digital library, with more than 13,500 hours of programming and access to another 21,500 hours.
Meanwhile, GOTV’s original production Isla Presencial recently ended its second season, garnering more than 35 million page views. The show also is a partnership with Plop, Electus and LatinWE.
Granier also will continue to serve as the managing director of RCTV International, where he has spent the last year developing its library of telenovelas to be produced as comedies and dramas for American audiences across network, cable and new media platforms.
RCTV recently sold Jane the Virgin (Juana la Virgen) as a one-hour drama to CW, which is being written by Jennie Snyder Urman, who will executive produce alongside Granier, Gary Pearl and Ben Silverman. Additionally, he recently signed a first look deal with Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment.
