Joseph Altuzarra has had a lot to celebrate this year — from winning this year’s prestigious U.S. Woolmark Prize and the CFDA’s inaugural CFDA branding initiative — and now, the fashion designer is getting married.
The clothier is engaged to New York real estate developer Seth Weissman, who recently was named one of New York’s top 50 “new power gays” by The New York Observer, according to Fashionista. Glamour first confirmed the happy news, noting the proposal was rumored to have involved an all-male a cappella group from Altuzarra’s alma mater, Swarthmore College.

Altuzarra, a fan of Claire Danes on the red carpet, designed this year’s Emmys Green Room, where he told The Hollywood Reporter about the inspiration behind his first foray into interior design: “There’s this French side of the [Altuzarra] brand — that’s where the molding came from, and then there’s also the American side with 1970s furniture — a more pragmatic approach to the furnishing. I think there’s also this idea of efficiency, modularity of the furniture that things would be multi-use.”
Considering how beautiful the Emmys Green Room looked this year, we can only imagine how the wedding will be set up. And we’re curious to see if the pair will wear tuxes designed by Altuzarra himself on the big day.
