Updos made a strong showing on the red carpet, with a handful of starlets opting for modern versions of the classic bun that were not only feminine but also guaranteed protection against the humidity.

Arriving on the arm of hubby Adam Levine, model Behati Prinsloo flaunted a seriously slick version of the pulled-back look accented with a dramatic center part.
Julianne Moore, nominated for best actress in a leading role for Still Alice, arrived with a side-parted chignon. But Gone Girl star Rosamund Pike, also a contender in the same category, stole the show with her messy-chic bun that showed off a sexy undercut.
