For the new fall/winter 2015 season’s ballet-inspired collection, Jimmy Choo looked to a famous face with enviable abs and stems to show it off: Kate Hudson. The result was a beautiful photo diary that makes us seriously covet all of the looks.
It turns out Hudson was the perfect choice for the ballet-tinged range — as anyone who saw her dance in Glee knows — since she first started taking classes at age 3, thanks to her mom, Goldie Hawn. In an interview, she said, “I wasn’t allowed to skip class; I just knew I had to go. If you have that kind of discipline as a kid, it sort of translates to everything.” It’s surely served Hudson well in her career.
From her Jimmy Choo shoot, Hudson said her favorite look was pink velvet ballet heels with a big skirt. “The whole look had a vintage Oscar de la Renta vibe to it; it was so ethereal and relaxed.” And lucky her, she also reminisced about her earliest fashion memory, again courtesy of Hawn.

“I was a little girl and went with my mom to a fitting with Bob Mackie for a special she was working on. She was in his studio, and there was fabric and sequins everywhere. I was in awe; it was like being in a little fashion dream! I remember he made me a package of little sequin bow pins, in all different colors. There were about 10 in the package he made me, and it was a moment I will never forget because I was so excited.” Understandable — we would be, too.
