Katy Perry has surpassed Beyonce in her devotion to Barack Obama’s presidential campaign.
Beyonce sang for the president and First Lady Michelle Obama at an inaugural party on Jan 20, 2009. And she and Jay-Z threw a huge fundraiser in New York recently.

But this weekend Perry will sing her support for the third time at an Obama rally in Milwaukee, Wisconsin — one of those all important swing states. She’s already sung for the president in Las Vegas, wearing a white latex dress that looked like a giant voting ballot. She drew over 13,000 people to the politiical rally on held on Oct. 24.
And she sang at a recent Los Angeles fundraiser wearing a Statue of Liberty outfit with a Stars and Stripes flag cape that made her look like a bit like a superhero.
The Statue of Liberty costume was a reference to a lyric in her popular song about independence, “Pearl.” That night, she tweeted: “I sang for President ?@BarackObama? last night because I believe in Equal Rights ?#ForAll? ?#Vote?.”

The singers’s political support for the Obamas goes way back: she wore a Barack Obama t-shirt in 2008 at the MTV’s European Music Awards. And maybe her backing of the president could help sway some voters.
According to an Oct. 29 survey by The Hollywood Reporter pollster Penn Schoen Berland, Perry was one of the celebs who make voters more likely to cast a ballot for a Democrat.
We can’t wait to see what kind of Obama promotional costume she will wear this weekend.
