Ke$ha has exited the Chicago-area rehab facility that she entered in early January, telling fans that she is “happy to be back,” while changing her Twitter handle to something less self-deprecating.
On Thursday night, Ke$ha (real name: Kesha Rose Sebert) posted a photo from a seat on an airplane to Twitter — her first tweet since Jan. 22, which was three weeks after the pop star checked into a rehab center for an eating disorder. Soon after, Ke$ha added, “Happy to be back! Feeling healthy & working on tons of new music. I can’t thank my fans enough for all the love & support u have given me.”

Also of note: Ke$ha’s Twitter handle is now @KeshaRose, after being @keshasuxx for years, a sign of her improved self-image.
Since entering the rehab center on Jan. 3, Ke$ha has posted infrequent updates on her social media platform, describing her treatment stint as “really hard and necessary work.” On Feb. 4, the singer announced in a press statement that she would be postponing her March and April tour dates to follow the advice of her doctors.
The 27-year-old singer’s mother, Pebe Sebert, has publicly accused Ke$ha’s longtime musical mentor Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald of serving as a cause to her daughter’s disorder. Gottwald has vehemently denied such claims.

During Ke$ha’s two-month treatment, “Timber,” her collaborative single with former touring partner Pitbull, hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart. The “tons of new music” Ke$ha is focusing on suggests that a follow-up to her 2012 sophomore album, Warrior, is in the works.
