With news that 20th Century Fox acquired the film rights to Those Guys Have All the Fun, the bestselling history of ESPN, former anchors Keith Olbermann and Dan Patrick speculated on what actors might play them in the movie. On Current TV’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann they offered their choices from Paul Giammati as Tony Kornheiser to Olbermann’s hilarious choice for Patrick.
Those Guys Have All the Fun: Inside the World of ESPN (Little Brown) is the oral history of the sports network by Tom Shales and James Andrew Miller that garnered wide attention when it was published in May and has been on the New York Times bestseller list for eight consecutive weeks. Much of the interest in the book focused on the early nineties when Olbermann waged epic battles with ESPN management, even as he and Dan Patrick became famous for their quick-witted sportscasts.
