Keith Olbermann finally sold his three-bedroom Trump Palace apartment and couldn’t be happier.
The political commentator gleefully shared his news via a series of tweets on Thursday. “I’M FREEEEEEEEE! It’s no longer my @RealDonaldTrump Apartment! I got out with 90% of my money and 100% of my soul!” he wrote, alongside a photo of keys to his condo. He said it felt like having a “250-pound Oompa Loompa” removed from his side.
“Now that I’ve escaped, I can report to you that the market in NYC Trump apartments is in free fall,” added Olbermann. He joked that his 10 percent loss on the property could be used as a metaphor for a Trump presidency. “You’ll be ecstatic if the country’s only worth 10% less,” he said.
Olbermann explained his decision in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter: “The closing featured a lot of conversation about the unsold inventory at all the Trump-named buildings in the city. Leaving aside his politics for the moment, his reputation in real estate is now in ruins. I suspect this all ends with his name being removed from the building – like the day they yanked down the statue of Saddam Hussein. Maybe it’ll be renamed Hillary Palace.”

Olbermann put his condo up for sale in April, listing it for $3.9 million, following remarks that he was not comfortable living in an apartment owned by Donald Trump.
“When Trump started going off the rails five or six years ago, I started to protest by denouncing him in commentaries I actually filmed in his own buildings,” Olbermann told THR. “That was sufficient for a while. But that was just no longer enough when it became a presidential campaign of demagoguery, so I had to take it to the next step.”
