The 86th annual Academy Awards is less than two weeks away, and we can hardly wait to see all the gorgeous gowns and dapper tuxedos that will hit the red carpet. For one actor, we already know which custom-designed tux he’ll be wearing on the big night — The Legend of Hercules star Kellan Lutz will wear the first sustainable tux at this year’s Oscars in a design by Suzy Amis-Cameron‘s eco-fashion campaign, Red Carpet Green Dress.
In October, Amis-Cameron (wife of James Cameron) announced the addition of a menswear category to celebrate the campaign’s fifth anniversary. The winning tux was designed by Jomnarn Dul from New Zealand’s iconic menswear brand H Brothers. According to a release, Dul was inspired by will.i.am‘s style when working on the design, which is made from recycled content. Dul also will get the opportunity work with American fashion designer and artist Jeff Garner, who will act as her mentor, to help guide her through the actual making of Lutz’s tux.
“I’m honored to have been asked to participate in this milestone year of Red Carpet Green Dress, and I look forward to wearing Dul’s winning design for H Brothers to the Oscars next month,” said the Twilight star in a statement.
Actress Naomie Harris graced last year’s Oscars red carpet in a Red Carpet Green Dress, designed by winner Michael Badger.
