Getty ImagesKelsey Grammer and his wife, Kayte Grammer, have welcomed their first child together, a girl named Faith Evangelina Elisa Grammer.
The couple’s daughter was born in Los Angeles on Friday morning, weighing in at 6 pounds, 2 ounces.
“Mother and child are in excellent health,” the Grammers said in a statement. “We were ecstatic earlier this year, when we announced that Kayte was carrying twins. Tragically we lost the little boy shortly thereafter. This was not something we cared to make known publicly at the time. It was unspeakably painful and we know that people will understand our desire to keep the news private then, as we know they will respect our privacy in this matter now. A glorious birth with a lingering sadness is ours today. We choose to celebrate the life that has been given us. We proudly introduce our Faith to the world today looking forward to the days ahead and the children yet to come.”

This week, Grammer wrapped up filming on the second season of the Starz series Boss, which shoots in Chicago.
Grammer, 57, went public with his relationship with then-Kayte Walsh, a British flight attendant 25 years younger, in 2010 amid a contentious divorce from his ex-wife, Camille Grammer, with whom he has an 10-year-old daughter, Mason, and 7-year-old son, Jude. The pair married in February 2011, and renewed their vows in June.
The Emmy-winning ex-Frasier star has another daughter, the 28-year-old actress Spencer Grammer, from his first marriage.
