Executive vp production Scott Bernstein will oversee the project for the studio.
STORY How Warner Bros. Lost Out on ‘Ride Along’
Jeong’s role is being described as similar to Joe Pesci’s scene-stealing third wheel in 1980s classic Lethal Weapon 2. (Google it. Or just go see the movie.) He will play a cocky computer hacker who fancies himself a ladies man but who also is key in solving the case that Cube and Hart are working on.
Jeong already is familiar to scene-stealing, having done that in The Hangover movies, which made him a star. The actor, who also stars on TV’s Community, recently wrapped The DUFF for CBS Films.
He is repped by CAA and Aligned Entertainment.
