The 21-year-old revealed via Instagram on Wednesday that she’s officially joining the Adidas family as an ambassador, posting a Boomerang of herself decked out in a black track suit (signature three stripe-motif in view) and the Adidas Gazelle sneakers while scooting around the brand’s headquarters on a golf cart. Jenner teased her new position last week, posting a photo of herself as a pigtail-clad pipsqueak in an Adidas tee. The ambassadorship is Jenner’s first new deal since the Pepsi fiasco back in April.
“A longtime fan of the brand, Kendall embodies the spirit of Adidas Originals as a creative force shaping the world today by challenging the status quo in her very own way,” stated the company in a release. “A classic icon, Kendall is a true Original and we welcome her to our family.”
Jenner joins an A-list Adidas fam, which includes Pharrell, Karlie Kloss, Hannah Bronfman and at one time, Kate Moss, who starred in the German brand’s original Gazelle ads back in the ‘90s
We can only imagine that Kanye West is pleased with the decision — he was, after all, shocked when he realized his other half-sister in-law, Kylie, was fronting for a direct Yeezy competitor (West’s label is produced by Adidas) when her Puma deal was revealed last year.
Kloss celebrated the news of her new Adidas sis by posting a photo of her own, which she captioned, “Welcome to the fam, @kendalljenner!”
