Scandal star Kerry Washington and Kate Hudson are in early talks to star in Unforgettable, a Warner Bros. thriller that will be directed by Belle director Amma Asante.
The script by Christina Hodsen centers on a woman trying to settle into a new marriage and life as a mom who suddenly must contend with her husband’s ex, a woman who is out to get her.
It is unclear which will play which at this stage if deals are made.
Denise Di Novi and Alison Greenspan are producing.
Andy Fischel and Racheline Benveniste are overseeing for the studio.
Assante was a British actress who made her directorial debut with the 2004 drama A Way of Life. It’s her period mixed-race drama Belle, which stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Matthew Goode, that is generating buzz on the other side of the pond.
Washington stars in the ABC hit Scandal and has been twice nominated for her role as the stylish crisis PR maven operating in White House circles. While the actress has appeared in movies such as Django Unchained, Unforgettable would be her first major feature role since her success with Scandal.
Hudson recently wrapped Rock the Kasbah, a Barry Levinson-directed comedy that features Bill Murray leading an all-star cast.
