Kevin Spacey is joining Billionaire Boys Club.
The Oscar winner will play a real-life Beverly Hills highflier who was murdered in 1984 after a Ponzi scheme ran dry.
Spacey will play the role alongside rising stars Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service) and Ansel Elgort (The Fault in Our Stars). Wonderland helmer James Cox will direct the film.
The project is a remake of a 1987 TV movie, which was based on a true story about a group of wealthy young men whose schemes and manipulative ways eventually lead to murder.
Cassian Elwes and Holly Wiersma are producing. Armory Films is financing with Tim Zajaros and Chris Lemole executive producing along with Crystal Lourd and Jere Hausfater.
It will be introduced to AFM buyers by Good Universe. CAA is handling domestic rights.
