Khloe Kardashian has rubbed the Internet the wrong way — this time with a selfie the reality starlet posted on Tuesday morning of her wearing a niqab, the traditional Muslim headdress that reveals only the eyes.
The Instagram post, captioned, “Habibi Love,” has the Twittersphere up in arms over the double standard of Western cultural appropriation.
Muslim women wears niqab: SHES OPPRESSED, HER RELIGION HAS NO RIGHTS Khloe Kardashian wears niqab: YOUR EYES LOOK SO BEAUTIFUL IN THEM

Khloe Kardashian wears a niqab like scarf, gets admiration. When an actual Muslim wears a niqab, gets called a terrorist. Prejudice at best

Someone slap the cultural appropriation out of Khloe Kardashian for making the niqab into a fashion statement.

This isn’t the first time that the Kardashian has been called out for being insensitive toward Muslims and Middle Eastern culture. This past Halloween, the 30-year-old posted a photo of herself in a cat costume with brother-in-law Scott Disick, who was dressed as a Sheik, with the caption, “Sheik Pussy.”
Kardashian isn’t the only celeb to cause controversy by wearing the traditionally Muslim headdress. Madonna made waves last year for posting a photo on Instagram of herself in a niqab with the caption: “It’s that kind of day #unapologeticbitch.”
