Welcoming the new Mr. and Mrs. Humphries were some 450 guests at a lavish private ceremony in Montecito, Calif., and while E! reality star Kim Kardashian and New Jersey Nets forward Kris Humphries forced all attendees to fork over their cell phones during the wedding ceremony and party, many were itching to tweet once they were handed back their devices.
Kim reportedly wore not one, not two, but three Vera Wang gowns throughout the night. Wang tweeted after the event was over, “Wow! @KimKardashian What a joyous, beautiful, magical night! Wishing you and Kris all the blessings in the world xxVera.”
Ryan Seacrest, friend and producer of Kardashian’s reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, tweeted, “Beautiful..kim looked regal, a perfect night.I just danced w the whole family.”
Before the ceremony, PR guru Jonathan Cheban tweeted his excitement for his “best friend’s” wedding. Afterward, “NOW that is what I call a wedding…Style, Elegance, Sophistication and Glamour! @KimKardashian @KrisHumphries Congratulations LOVE u guys!”
Cheban’s PR partner in crime Simon Huck called it the “wedding of the century!”
South Beach marketing guru, Dave Grutman of LIV and the Arkadia, was in attendance and particularly felt the sting of being torn away from his beloved phone. He tweeted: “Now that was some wedding. So nice to get my cell phone back.”
New Jersey Nets General Manager Billy King was able to celebrate with the couple (despite reports that Humphries’ teammates would not be able to attend the wedding because of the current NBA lockout). “Congrats to Kim and Kris,” he tweeted. “Beautiful wedding.”
HauteLiving CEO Kamal Hotchandani tweeted about the party bringing together old friends. In response to Scottie Pippen‘s wife Larsa: “Amazing time w u and my bro @ScottiePippen RT @larsapippen: @KimKardashian was gorgeous!!! The wedding was crazy fun.”
Sugar Ray Leonard’s wife, Bernadette, was a happy tweeter about her goddaughter’s ceremony. Sugar Ray, by the way, is the godfather of Kim’s sister, Khloe Kardashian. The two snapped photos together before the wedding and tweeted them out to fans before their phones were confiscated. “Well all I can say us it was the wedding of the century. Kim was the most beautiful Queen we have ever seen. The reception you’ll have to see.”
Terius Nash, otherwise known as producer The-Dream, only had one thing to say: the bride “LOOKED HOT AS F**K!”
Maria Menounos tweeted a photo of her white dress for the wedding. This wasn’t an attempt at outdoing the bride, she explained to her twitter followers: the dress code for the event was strictly black and white. Like Pippa Middleton at her sister Kate’s royal wedding, Kim’s sisters in the bridal party were also clad head-to-toe in white.
Dina Lohan arrived with daughter Lindsay Lohan, but according to Menounos had a bit of a fashion faux pas: “dina lohan was annoyed by her long dress so I tied it at the bottom.haha macguyver menounos!”
The bride, however, “looked like a princess..ceremony was beautiful.Mason, kourtneys son stole the show-when you see the show you’ll see.lol sooo cute!”
She continued: “I’ve never seen people hit the dance floor the second they got to a wedding! noone wasted any time.some great surprise performances too! … extravagant and yet kim and her whole family were still gracious and spent time w/each guest.food was gr8.”
Video from inside the wedding will be featured in a special early edition of E! News on Sunday, August 21 at 6 pm ET/PT.
So, what’s next for the happy couple? Well, no honeymoon—for now. But the couple is planning a big celebration in New York with Niche Media founder Jason Binn and Colin Cowie. The exclusive event is set to take place August 31 at Capitale.
