Kim Kardashian West, Dax Shepherd and Yara Shahidi have joined the voice cast for Paw Patrol, the upcoming Paramount Pictures feature based on the hit preschool television series about rescue dogs on Nickelodeon.
Jimmy Kimmel, Tyler Perry and Randall Park, Iain Armitage, Marsai Martin and Will Brisbin will also lend their voices to the film now in production with creators, artists and producers working remotely.
The first installment in what is anticipated as a movie franchise will see Ryder and the pups called to Adventure City to stop Mayor Humdinger from turning the bustling metropolis into a state of chaos.
The PAW Patrol preschool series follows the adventures of a tech-savvy boy named Ryder and his team of pups — Chase, Marshall, Rubble, Zuma, Rocky and Skye — who are ready to save the day and to keep Adventure Bay safe. The show airs in over 160 countries, in 30 languages.
Spin Master Entertainment, the entertainment division of the company behind the PAW Patrol toy line that inspired the series, is partnering with Nickelodeon Movies for the feature animated treatment of its furry franchise.
Paramount Pictures has set a Aug. 20, 2021 theatrical release for the movie to be directed by Cal Brunker, with Jennifer Dodge to produce and Ronnen Harary, Adam Beder and Peter Schlessel executive producing.
