ITV Studios, a unit of U.K. TV giant ITV, has a new head of international. Maria Kyriacou has been promoted to the newly created role of president, international at ITV Studios, it was announced Friday.
She will report to Julian Bellamy, who as managing director oversees all of ITV Studios.
Kyriacou will lead all of ITV Studios International’s production companies, with the exception of ITV America, as well as ITV Studios Global Entertainment and ITV’s international scripted strategy. ITV Studios America president Philippe Maigret will also report to Kyriacou and will now also serve as a strategic advisor on ITV Studios’ worldwide scripted strategy.
Kyriacou was most recently managing director, global entertainment & Row Studios at ITV Studios.
“Growing our global footprint is one of the key pillars of our strategy and a crucial part of this is scripted,” said Bellamy. “The global demand for world-class drama continues and this structure will allow us to take even greater advantage of the many opportunities around the world.”
Said Kyriacou: “We have an enormously talented team around the world that have already made significant progress in our global strategy. This strengthens our international network and allows us to build on the great experience we have had working with some of the world’s leading creative talent and networks.”
ITV Studios is the U.K.’s biggest production company. Its U.S. arm is the largest independent producer of non-scripted content in the country. In December, Brent Montgomery was announced as CEO of ITV America.
