Lady Gaga hit the red carpet in a voluminous, kimono-style dress embellished with feathers at this year’s Met Gala, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday in New York City. This year’s theme celebrates the museum’s Costume Institute exhibition, “China: Through the Looking Glass.”

It was recently announced that the singer and style chameleon will be taking a turn on the small screen, acting in Ryan Murphy’s AHS: Hotel series, shooting this summer in L.A. and premiering this fall on FX.
Gaga attends the annual gala for the first time since 2010, when she performed in a sheer, crystal-covered catsuit by Giorgio Armani. This year she goes even bigger by reportedly co-hosting an afterparty with Alexander Wang — it’s yet to be seen if she’ll sing.
