Protesters of the controversial grand jury decision in Ferguson, Mo., hit Los Angeles for the second day in a row.
Protesters marched on Beverly Hills and the downtown L.A. area, where they remained largely peaceful, though at times they stood on police cars, reports KTLA. The protesters headed to Los Angeles Police Department building downtown, where they continued to demonstrate, with some throwing bottles at police. One police officer was being examined after being hit with a bottle. Later, protesters ran onto the 101 freeway near downtown, blocking traffic in both directions. Los Angeles Police Department officers cleared the protesters from the freeway and pushed them onto the Grand Ave. offramp. Police worked to clear debris protesters had thrown onto the highway.
Several journalists on the scene tweeted pictures of the protesters. KTLA reporter Gadi Schwartz estimated at least 1,000 people were involved in the downtown protest.

The protests are in response to a Missouri Grand Jury’s decision not to indict Darren Wilson, the Ferguson police officer who shot and killed unarmed teenager Michael Brown in August. In addition to L.A. and Ferguson, protests have taken place in cities such as Oakland, Chicago and New York.
In L.A. on Monday, protesters backed up traffic on the 10 freeway.
