The celebration of DSquared2’s new L.A. store brought out Hollywood’s finest, including Jordana Brewster, who came with stylist Brad Goreski, Hannah Simone, Dita Von Teese and Emily Ratajkowski, to fete twin brothers and designers Dean and Dan Caten, as the brand opens its new 4,500-square-foot Rodeo Drive digs. “We are so proud to bring our brand and our entire store concept offering all of our collections to U.S. customers,” Dean told Pret-a-Reporter.
Dan added: “It’s been a long-held dream of ours to have a retail presence here, and this Los Angeles store represents a new chapter and an energetic retail future for our brand.”
Guests sipped on champagne and snacked on ricotta-and-fennel-filled puff pastries and tuna tartare while mingling around the pool at a private residence in West Hollywood. One of the partygoers, Elizabeth Stewart (The Hollywood Reporter‘s No. 1 Power Stylist of 2014), shared that she loves dressing her clients in the brand. “We have had some amazing Dsquared2 moments; this past award season Sandy [Bullock] wore the perfect little LBD and Jessica [Chastain] wore the perfect LPD — little pink dress — this year,” said Stewart. “The fit is always just incredible.”

“Well, number one, I love Dsquared2 because they are Canadian!” Goreski told us. “But number two, their clothes are fun and beautifully tailored.” Goreski’s client, Jordana Brewster, who wore a white tuxedo jacket and shorts by the label, echoed the same thought: “I have worn their clothes to events and I love that they always put a twist on something classic.”
Gone Girl actress Emily Ratajkowski, who arrived in a Dsquared2 suit, said of her outfit: “It is very feminine, but also a little androgynous. It’s fun!”
The Canadian-based, Italian-made label has been getting a lot of love on the carpet, with Jennifer Lopez recently donning a blue snakeskin ensemble by the brand for an American Idol photocall.
The two-story Beverly Hills location is the first of three boutiques in the United States; a Miami location is opening in December followed by one in New York in January.
