Laurence Fishburne and Grace Gummer are in talks to join Daniel Radcliffe in the action-thriller Beast of Burden.
Swedish filmmaker Jesper Ganslandt will make his English-language debut with the action-thriller. With a script by Adam Hoelzel, Beast of Burden centers on a pilot (Radcliffe) running drugs across the boarder who must navigate the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Cartel and others over the course of a day.
Fishburne will play a cartel handler, assigned to guide Radcliffe’s character through the drug run. Gummer plays Radcliffe’s character’s wife who must work with him to escape the threat of the cartel.
Paul Schiff is producing along with Michael Diamond of MGMT Entertainment. Chad Moore and Jeff Elliott of Green-Light also will produce. It’s financed and produced by Mary Aloe, Sean Glover and Wei Wang of WYSJ Media and Aloe Entertainment Productions. The film is shooting in Savannah, Ga.
Fishburne will soon be seen in Passengers with Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt and John Wick: Chapter 2. He is currently shooting Richard Linklater’s Last Flag Flying with Steve Carell, and is an EP and co-star on ABC series Black-ish. He also will star in the BET miniseries Madiba, playing the title character of Nelson Mandela. He’s repped by Paradigm, Landmark Artists Management and Del, Shaw.
Gummer is known for starring on USA’s hit series Mr. Robot and most recently appeared on Amazon’s Good Girls Revolt, playing Nora Ephron. Her film credits include Frances Ha and Jenny’s Wedding. She’s repped by CAA and Anonymous Content.
