Well, that was quick. Only a day after Jezebel made its $10,000 offer to whomever would hand over the unretouched photos of Lena Dunham‘s Vogue image the photos have surfaced online.
The website, which claims it received the allegedly unedited photos within two hours after its offer, posted several before and after shots, scrutinizing every minor alteration of Dunham’s photos from the glossy.

While Jezebel may feel proud for proving its point with Vogue‘s (and other fashion and lifestyle magazines) tendency to photoshop its subjects, fashion sites like Fashionista called the stunt rather “insensitive,” while The Cut pointed out how Jezebel’s challenge “doesn’t make the issue Vogue‘s aesthetic; it makes the issue Dunham’s body.”
Dunham also found Jezebel’s cause a waste of time, responding to the situation on Twitter on Thursday night. She wrote, “Some shit is just too ridiculous to engage. Let’s use our energy wisely, 2014.”
