KARLOVY VARY — Lionsgate has extended and expanded its output deal in Germany with Studiocanal.
The new agreement will see Studiocanal release Lionsgate movies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, including The Hunger Games: Mockingjay: Part 1 to be rolled out in Germany on November 20, 2014.
The latest output deal also will include The Hunger Games: Mockingjay: Part 2; the action comedy Mortdecai, starring Johnny Depp, Gwyneth Paltrow and Ewan McGregor; and the live action Power Rangers franchise.
Lionsgate’s feature film slate will also underpin Studiocanal Germany’s new multiyear agreement with the ProSiebenSat.1 Group, after ProSieben licensed exclusive TV rights to Lionsgate films for its free TV channels in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland.
The new deal was unveiled Monday by Studiocanal CEO and chairman Olivier Courson, Studiocanal Germany CEO Rodolphe Buet, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group co-chairs Patrick Wachsberger and Rob Friedman and Lionsgate International COO Andrew Kramer.
