‘Live with Kelly & Michael’ Continues to Grow Ratings, 5 Weeks Into Season

Five weeks into its new season, Live with Kelly & Michael was the only daytime talk show among the top ten to grow last week, rising four percent to a 2.6 rating in households.

Live with Kelly & Michael, distributed by Disney, has shown consistent growth since the new co-host made his debut in September. It has been no lower than number two this season.

For the first four weeks of the season, Live is up over last year by 10 percent in women 18-49 and 15 percent in women 25-54, which is the show’s best performance since the 2008-09 season.

Again topping the week, and the season to date, Dr. Phil hit a rating of a 3.0. Down roughly three percent from the prior week, he averaged about 3.9 million viewers each weekday. Dr. Phil also scored the best rating among the key demographic group of women 25-54, with a 1.6 rating.

Dr. Oz, distributed by Sony, remained in third place among all talk shows with a 2.3 rating, even though it was down four percent from the prior week. Ellen was fourth with an even 2.3 rating, while Maury took fifth place with a steady 2.2 rating.

In sixth place among all talk shows was Katie, which remains the top among newcomers this season. Her 1.7 rating (2.3 million viewers each day) marked a six percent drop from prior week. A steady Steve Harvey took second place among newcomers (and tenth place overall among talkers) with a 1.3 rating (1.8 million viewers).

After a month in the basement, Jeff Probst from CBS distribution showed some life, rising to a 0.8 rating (990,000 viewers on average each day), which was up 14 percent from the prior week. He was the only newcomer to show improvement as Ricki Lake fell 13 percent to a 0.7 rating (949,000 viewers).

Tricia dropped 20 percent from the week before to a 0.4 rating (an average of 581,000 viewers a day). It had a 0.3 rating among women 25-54.

In the key demo of women 25-54, Live with Kelly & Michael, Ellen and Maury all had a 1.5 rating. Dr. Oz had a 1.2 rating. Katie led newcomers with a 1.0 rating, just ahead of Steve Harvey, Wendy Williams and Steve Wilkos, all of whom posted a 0.9 rating.

As usual, Judge Judy was the top-rated show in all syndication with a 6.7 rating, down just on percent from the prior week, but up eight percent from the same week one year ago.
