You can’t keep a good reporter down — especially when she’s not even made it to the Daily Planet just yet.
Following the success of the YA prose novels Lois Lane: Fallout and Lois Lane: Double Down, Capstone’s imprint Switch Press has announced a third novel focusing on the high school adventures of Superman’s future main squeeze, with Lois Lane: Triple Threat scheduled for a late spring 2017 release.
The new book will continue Lois’ investigations into the criminal underclass of Metropolis, as well as bringing her even closer to the mysterious SmallvilleGuy — her online crush who just might be another future journalist with the initials C.K.
Triple Threat sees novelist Gwenda Bond return to the character for a third outing, and in a statement Wednesday accompanying the announcement, the author said that she “can’t overstate what an honor it is to be part of Lois Lane’s history and tell stories about her for a new audience,” adding, “I’m also extremely grateful for the support of the fans of the books and the character — you’re the reason I get to keep doing this and so thank you all!”
The series launched in 2015 with the critically acclaimed Fallout, with Double Down appearing earlier this year. Following the success of the series, produced in association with DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Consumer Products, DC announced an additional line of YA novels featuring Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman and Catwoman to launch in 2017.
Unlike the earlier novels in the series, Triple Threat will be published at a time when Lois has her own comic book series: Superwoman, which launches next week, will follow a newly super-powered Lois as she tries to come to terms with being a superhero and living the double life that Clark Kent once enjoyed.
Lois Lane: Triple Threat is set to be published May 1.
