Lowe’s won’t see the end of the controversy over their decision to pull its advertising from TLC’s All-American Muslim anytime soon (or at least for this weekend).

On Saturday, the African American Ministers Leadership council and the Council on American-Islamic relations are joining elected officials and community leaders in an interfaith protest at the Lowe’s in Allen Park, Mich. – about 7 miles from Dearborn where All-American Muslim was taped.
The group plans to protest what a press release refers to as “the company’s decision to cave to anti-Muslim extremists.” They’re referring to the The Florida Family Association, a conservative evangelical group which pressured companies into pulling their advertising from the show on the grounds that it showed American Muslims “as ordinary folks like you and me.”
Since Lowe’s confirmed that it had pulled its advertising from the reality show last week, calls for boycotts have been supported by actress Mia Farrow, actor Kal Penn, California State Senator Ted Lieu, and hip hop mogul Russell Simmons.
Earlier this week, Simmons attempted to buy out all available ad space on Sunday’s episode of All-American Muslim.
