Designer extraordinaire Zac Posen will kick off the Lucky Magazine Fabb Fashion and Beauty Blogger conference on Monday, April 30, as the first speaker after an 8 a.m. breakfast and welcome from Lucky editor Brandon Holley. So for those who hate Mondays, better set the clock now — Posen, in from New York, will speak at 8:35 am, and it’s all the way at the beach. And you’re going to want to dress well.
That’s because there will be a gaggle of fashionistas, beauty bloggers, celebs, editors, costume designers, etc. — and while the L.A. fashion crowd may be way more relaxed than the New York one in terms of dress, this is going to be a well turned out group. For instance, Jessica Alba will give a conversation about The Honest Company, which she founded, at 9:40 a.m. Mad Men‘s Kiernan Shipka (Sally Draper) will have a conversation with Mad Men costumer Janie Bryant at 11:30 a.m. And Elizabeth Banks will speak about her fashion and beauty blog (ElizabethBanks.com) at 3 p.m. Banks has been getting good parts in films for years, but Hunger Games has no doubt upped her star power.

But up till and through the cocktail reception at 6 p.m., you might see Andrea Lieberman, Creative Director of the hot line ALC, wandering the halls, along with Jeff Rudes, the CEO of J Brand, and Suzi-Weiss Fischmann, Exec VP of Opi nailpolish. Randi Zuckerberg, former head of marketing at Facebook (and sister of founder Mark), now CEO of R to Z Studios, will represent the tech world, as will representatives of websites WhoWhatWear, Funny Or Die, HelloBrit.com, Snob Global Media, and more.
Some of the panels include “What Hollywood Can Teach Fashion,” “How Brands Work With Blogs” and “Ways You Didn’t Know You Could Monetize.” There’s a very high level of participation on this first West Coast Fabb conference, and it really does look like a must-go event for anyone related to fashion and/or beauty blogging. Interesting that a glossy print shopping magazine would host it, right? It would appear these are their competitors. But this makes it all the more interesting.
