Could Lupita Nyong’o be the next EGOT contender?
The Queen of Katwe actress already has an Oscar under her belt, and she came close to a Tony earlier this year for her role in Eclipsed. However, should Troublemaker, Nyong’o’s rapping alter ego, ever decide to drop an album, there could be a Grammy in her future.
We first made Troublemaker’s acquaintance on Sunday afternoon, when Nyong’o posted a music video in celebration of reaching 3 million followers on Instagram. Choice verses include: “Mexico-born, Kenya running through my veins, dark chocolate plus I keep a sharp mane,” as well as, “Lancome fresh face, looking tailor made, Disney on the books so you know I stay paid.”
We can’t hold the fact that she has a ghostwriter against her (she gives Miriam A. Hyman song-writing creds), because to be honest, the delivery is superb.
