The deals, financial details of which weren’t disclosed, follow similar agreements with other big Hollywood players that the company unveiled recently.
The latest arrangements will provide M-Go users access to such animated film franchises as Shrek, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon, as well as Relativity’s live action releases The Raven, Mirror Mirror and Act of Valor.
M-Go is scheduled to launch by year’s end and allow consumers to easily rent or purchase new releases and catalog films on any device or platform. It promises “day and date new release films, catch up television and back catalog film and TV shows.”
Major studios that have already struck deals with M-Go include NBCUniversal’s film unit, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox and Warner Bros. Digital Distribution. More content deals are expected ahead of the launch.
“M-Go’s unique offering has allowed us to secure “wins” with leading companies in both the technology and entertainment industries,” said M-Go CEO John Batter. “M-Go brings value to the marketplace by providing high-quality film and TV content to consumers on the devices they are already using.”
“Relativity is always looking to expand our presence in the digital space, and we are pleased to have forged a new partnership in the transactional business with M-Go,” said David Spiegelman, president, domestic television & digital distribution at Relativity Media.
The M-Go service will be pre-loaded on Intel, Samsung and Vizio devices. It will also be available as a free service at www.mgo.com. M-Go will also offer UltraViolet compatibility.
