Madonna and Live Nation Entertainment announced that a second show has been added for Tel Aviv’s Ramat Gan Stadium.
The new show will take place May 31, two days after the previously scheduled May 29 date. The added date will serve as a “Concert for Peace,” with Madonna inviting peace organizations to the concert to honor and acknowledge people seeking peace in the Middle East.
“Music is so universal and if there’s any chance that through my performance I can bring further attention and enlightenment to honor the peace efforts in the Middle East and help people come together, it would be an honor for me. It is my way of thanking those who are making so much effort toward bringing peace to the Middle East,” said Madonna.
The singer is currently rehearsing for her tour, which opens in Tel Aviv on May 29 and closes out in November in the U.S.
Madonna’s upcoming album, MDNA, will be released Tuesday. In an effort to ramp up awareness, she will be interviewed by late night host Jimmy Fallon on Saturday, which will be streamed on the singer’s official Facebook page.
Tickets for the second Tel Aviv date will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.
The tour is produced by Live Nation Global Touring in association with Shuki Weiss.
