“I promised your mother that I would protect you.”
Lionsgate/Roadside Attractions has released the first trailer for Arnold Schwarzenegger and Abigail Breslin‘s zombie film Maggie, and it puts the two in a haunting conundrum.
The apocalyptic thriller, directed by Henry Hobson from a Black List script by John Scott 3, follows the story of a Midwestern teenager whose father sticks by her side when she’s infected by disease that slowly turns her into a cannibalistic zombie.
Maggie was originally set to debut at Toronto last year, but was scooped up by Lionsgate just before the fest began. The film will now make its world premiere at Tribeca next month.
“I’m really proud of my new film, Maggie,” said Schwarzenegger when sharing the trailer Wednesday on Facebook. “This is the most human zombie film you’ve ever seen, and it’s the most human role you’ve ever seen me take on. My co-star, Abigail Breslin, is absolutely incredible in the title role, and our director, Henry Hobson, made a beautiful film.”
