Marc Jacobs‘ secondary ready-to-wear line, Marc by Marc Jacobs, will be discontinued, reports WWD.
According to the trade paper, the label, which Jacobs launched in Spring of 2001, will be absorbed into the designer’s primary line to create one collection that “will encompass a range of merchandise and price points currently divided between the two lines” and merge the brands into a more unified collection with a greater range of products.

Since leaving his post at Louis Vuitton in 2013 to focus more on his own line, big changes have seemed inevitable. No word yet on how or if creative director Katie Hillier and women’s design director Luella Bartley, who were appointed in May 2013, will have a role in the transition.
