Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon have announced the names of their newborn twins, who were born is Los Angeles last Saturday.
According to CNN, their son is named Moroccan Scott Cannon. Scott is Cannon’s middle name, as well as his grandmother’s maiden name.
The top tier of Mariah’s NYC apartment also is called the Moroccan Room, because of the Moroccan-inspired decor. It where Nick first proposed to his wife, overlooking Manhattan, reports CNN.
Their daughter will go by the moniker Monroe Cannon — an homage to Marilyn Monroe, who has been an inspiration to Carey her whole life
The girl will not have a middle name, Carey’s spokesperson Cindi Berger tells CNN, because Carey herself does not have one.
“It has been a long, emotional journey for this family, and I couldn’t be happier for all of them,” Berger, Carey’s spokesperson, tells CNN.
Carey welcomed the babies at 12:07 PM EDT on Saturday at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles.
The girl was reportedly born first, weighing 5 lbs., 3 oz., and was 18 inches long; her brother was born next, weighing 5 lbs., 6 oz., and was 19 inches.
