Wasting no time, 20th Century Fox announced it will release Matthew Vaughn’s comic book adaptation The Secret Service in theaters Nov. 14, 2014, the eve of the lucrative Thanksgiving holiday.
Fox has big hopes for the project, which Vaughn will begin shooting in August, from a script he wrote with Jane Goldman. Fox acquired worldwide rights to Secret Service after a spirited bidding war with Universal.

Mark Millar (Kick-Ass) and Dave Gibbons’ comic series follows a seasoned Secret Service agent who takes a younger agent under his wing as they investigate the murder of every resident of a small town and a mysterious secret involving Mount Everest.
Vaughn is no stranger on the Fox lot, having directed X-Men: First Class from a script he penned with Goldman, his longtime writing partner. Secret Service marks Vaughn’s first directing gig since First Class, which reinvigorated the franchise.
