COLOGNE, Germany — “Max Manus,” Espen Sandberg and Joachim Roenning’s World War II epic about a legendary Norwegian saboteur, will be Norway’s official entry for the 2010 Foreign Language Film Oscars.
The Norwegian-German-Danish co-production, starring Askel Hennie as the Nazi-bombing Manus, has grossed more than $15 million in its home territory, making it the most successful Norweigan film of all time. “Max Manus” swept Norway’s Amanda Awards earlier this year, taking six trophies, including for best film.
TrustNordisk is handling world sales on the title.
The 2010 Best Foreign Language Film nominees will be selected Feb. 2 and the winner announced at the 82nd Academy Awards March 7.
