Donald Trump surrogate Scottie Nell Hughes made a mistake when she was attempting to insult Jay Z on CNN on Sunday night. Jay Z and Beyonce headlined a free concert for Hillary Clinton and Hughes was trying to criticize the rapper.
“One of his main videos starts off with a crowd throwing mazel tov cocktails at the police,” said Hughes. She was referring to a Molotov cocktail featured in Jay Z and Kanye West’s “No Church in the Wild” music video.

The Trump surrogate admitted she had made a mistake after her appearance. “Trust me.. I realized at that moment, I should have taken a nap at some point the last 24hrs,” she tweeted. She added, “fyi oye vey,” misspelling “oy vey.”

Hughes was quickly called out on Twitter for her mistake, and on Monday morning, even Merriam-Webster got into the act, tweeting out in response. “No, we have no idea what a ‘mazel tov cocktail’ is,” they wrote.

A mazel tov cocktail? I suppose throwing bottles of Manischewitz could be frightening…could get a bump on the head that way.
