So maybe the devil doesn’t wear … underwear?
Anne Hathaway had such a great night planned Monday. First, she appeared on Late Show With David Letterman. Then she slipped into an edgy Tom Ford black silk gown and a super-cool pair of Tom Ford bondage boots to hit the New York premiere of Les Miserables.

Then she gets out of her limo and — BAM! — a photographer snaps a shot of her bare-naked lady parts. And boy, is the media having a field day with this revelation. Suddenly, she is being compared to Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears.
Us Weekly ran a photo of Hathaway getting exiting the limo with a hot pink circle over her naughty bits. Access Hollywood even made mention of Hathaway missing her unmentionables on Tuesday night’s show. Hollywood Life says Hathaway went “commando,” asking how on Earth she could have forgotten underwear or even a simple thong.
Grazia compared her kinky designer boots to orthopedic leg braces. And The International Business Times mentions her “accidentally flashing her nether regions.”

According to the New York Daily News, Hathaway dreamed a dream, all right — but it didn’t involve wearing panties, something the paper is calling “the Full Hathaway.” It also reported that during a luncheon Tuesday at the Four Seasons, Hathaway was overheard moaning about her mishap in the black taffeta gown.
“I was getting out of the car, and my dress was so tight that I didn’t realize it until I saw all the photographers’ flashes,” she told Vanity Fair writer Ingrid Sischy. “It was devastating. They saw everything. I might as well have lifted up my skirt for them.”

There is one upside to the night: Eco Razzie veered from the prurient tack taken by most media outlets, noting that Hathaway was wearing faux leather boots in accordance with her cruelty-free ethics .
Maybe we should all be cruelty-free and just let this embarrassing incident pass — hopefully without a Saturday Night Live skit.
