Following a range of award-winning toys, a beloved series of animation and sales-busting graphic novels, Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Entertainment’s DC Super Hero Girls is continuing to grow, with YouTube star Megan Nicole joining Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn and Supergirl for a new music video to promote the brand.
Megan rose to prominence on YouTube mixing covers of hit songs and original songs, amassing more than four million subscribers and a place on Billboard‘s “Social 50” chart. Her partnership with WBCP will see a new music video featuring Megan’s version of DC Super Hero Girls theme “Get Your Cape On” released next month on the Super Hero Girls YouTube channel, as well as DCSuperHeroGirls.com and the DC Super Hero Girls app.
“We’re excited to partner with Megan Nicole as she teams up with our DC Super Hero Girls franchise,” Warner Bros. Consumer Products president Pam Lifford said in a statement. “We continue our efforts to reinforce our message of empowerment by encouraging young fans around the world to embrace their inner strength and make a difference. WBCP and Megan Nicole celebrate the spirit of DC Super Hero Girls in this all-new take of the ‘Get Your Cape On!’ music video to inspire kids to be positive, proud and powerful.”
“I’m thrilled to team up with DC Super Hero Girls and get my cape on in celebration of the power in all of us,” Megan added. “I love DC Super Hero Girls’ message of inspiration to be strong, supportive, and true to yourself. I know when other fans watch this video, they’ll feel the same way I do.”
The new track launches a new season of Super Hero Girls initiatives for WBCP, including in-school and community outreach programs, in addition to promotions timed to Halloween and the holiday period.
Megan Nicole’s “Get Your Cape On” video will debut Sept. 8.
