A judge on Friday approved a settlement between Mel Gibson and his estranged wife of 31 years, Robyn, in their 2-year-old divorce case.
As part of the settlement, Robyn Gibson will revert to her maiden name, Robyn Denise Moore, but further details were not revealed.

Attorneys have previously said the settlement was reached in June and involves property they shared.
It is expected to become final Jan. 9.
Robyn Gibson filed for divorce in 2009 after 28 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.

Gibson, once worth an estimated $900 million, was once one of Hollywood’s most bankable stars, winning directing and best picture Oscars for the 1995 film Braveheart.
But lately he’s become known more for his scandals than his career. He and Robyn separated only days after Gibson’s notorious 2006 arrest for drunk driving when he launched an anti-Semitic tirade.
In March, he pleaded no contest to a battery charge stemming from a 2010 altercation with former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva and was sentenced to three years probation as well as domestic violence and mental health counseling.

He most recently appeared on the big screen in the Jodie Foster-directed The Beaver, which cost $20 million to produce but grossed less than $1 million at the domestic box office.
Gibson has seven children with Robyn and a 20-month-old daughter with Grigorieva.
